Psychosocial Thinkers exists to initiate real conversations and debates through which we can learn to make meaning of our broken social and political realities, as well as one’s own internal traumas and lived experiences. As an organisation, we work to uncover and expose toxic structures that act upon and within us. Psychosocial Thinkers acknowledges that we are living through challenging times where we are often alienated from each other, our environment and our own capacity to act and influence the decision making processes within our world.
Psychosocial Thinkers serves to the needs of individuals, communities and environments. We are here to provide a collective and an environment to process the difficulties within our socio-symbolic world. We exist to amplify the voices that are otherwise oppressed, erased, marginalised, forgotten, and misrepresented. Psychosocial thinkers are invested in the idea that we exist within, and are created through relationships and that people grow better together, so we strive for individual understanding through collective learning.
Using the framework of intersectionality, we try to better understand our subjective positioning within the social world and use this as a tool for learning from each other. We aim to decentralise power within our collective and work towards autonomous structure within our working groups. We offer peer support with the aim to empower each other through collaborative projects. We are open to extend our support and space for collaboration, skill/experience exchange and to provide/extend our platform to other organisations and groups whose work adheres with our core values.
